i3systems provides enterprise-grade, specialty AI products for insurance and healthcare with the aim to aggregate medical data and establish a connected ecosystem of healthcare and related services.

Having made our mark in the insurance sector, we seek to utilize the vast potential of AI in other sectors such as banking and financial services. Our Story

Founded on 15th February 2016, i3systems was co-founded by IIT graduates with expertise in AI and enterprise business.
With senior leadership expertise in technology, a strong team of data scientists and domain experts, our team comprises highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and bring excellence in everything they do.

Founders

Dr. Mallesh Bommanahal

Dr. Mallesh Bommanahal graduated with a B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT Bombay, and later did a PhD from De Montfort University at Leicester in the UK. He has built several AI products spanning Aerospace, Financial and Insurance industries.

Mr. Varzavand Batliwala

Mr. Varzavand Batliwala graduated with a B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT Bombay, and later completed the CFA L-3. He specialised in Business Strategy, Financial Planning and Market Research practices at TVS Capital and TATA capital.

Institutional Investor

Unitus Seed Fund is a social impact investment venture fund based in Bangalore and Seattle. It funds early-stage Indian technology startups, primarily in the healthcare, education and financial sectors. As an impact investment fund, its focus is on startups that serve low and middle-income consumers.

Mr. Bahram Navroz Vakil

Mr. Bahram Navroz Vakil serves as a Founding Partner of AZB & Partners. Mr. Vakil has been an Independent Director of Voltas Limited since September 1, 2014 and Independent Non-Executive Director of Trent Ltd since June 25, 2012. Mr. Vakil holds LLM from Columbia University and LLB from the University of Mumbai.

Mr. Jerxis Vandrevala

Mr. Jerxis Vandrevala is a well-known serial entrepreneur and currently serves as Country Manager for Radius Global Solutions and serves on Boards of over twenty Private Limited Companies in India. He was the founding member of HBL global, a large domestic outsourcing company which was a joint venture with HDFC Bank.

Mr. Zhooben Bhiwandiwala

Mr. Zhooben Bhiwandiwala currently heads the Mahindra Partners division and additionally oversees the Group Legal function. The Mahindra Partners division is the USD 1 Billion Private Equity and Venture Capital division of the Mahindra Group and is the channel for the Group’s diversified new investments.

Mr. Alok Agarwal

Mr. Alok Agarwal is the Chief Financial Officer for Reliance Industries Ltd. and Executive Director, Director-Quality & Technical at PTC Industries Ltd.

The Team On The Frontline

At i3systems, several teams work in tandem to build and deliver our products and produce the best results.

Business teams are more interested in their clients’ problems and immediate interests. Nobody knows their GPS location, while Google thinks they are jobless. They are so committed to their clients that they can be considered to be on the payroll of their clients, and not i3systems. They are most comfortable with their Macbooks and Suits.

Data Science team members invent cutting edge models for task automation and stitch these together into a data processing pipeline. They work on a large and variety of data sets to build machine learning models with our Industry partnership teams. They speak cryptic words like bagging, boosting, dimensionality, pruning etc. to drive others away. They come across as shy people, as they tackle the toughest problems to create the loudest inventions.

Data Operations team is the backbone of i3systems’ technology development, while Data Science is the brain. They perform accurate data annotations, evaluate the performance of AI systems, and answer queries of the clients on a day-to-day basis. They convert non-believers into believers by demonstrating the ROI and key SLAs for new clients.

Technology teams build sophisticated data pipelines to keep the AI power train running, while ensuring that the requirements of all the other teams like Operations, IT, Finance, Strategy, etc. are satisfactorily met. Their emotions are as varied as the nature of the problems they solve or the software designs they create. They use black screens with colorful fonts and measure their success in the number of pushes and pulls, and commits.

Recruitment and Administration teams do everything possible to ensure that everybody is comfortable and effective at their work. They are the information store house of i3systems, as they have the highest level of access. They truly are in charge of the House of i3systems.
